Friday Fitness - 1.

Is it me... or does it seem like I have just had a 6 day work week? I had Monday off but instead of the week flying by as it usually does on a four day week - it went painfully slow.

I am still debating (with myself of course) if I should make every Friday a "Fitness Friday."
I would like to get something up and running but I am still formulating which direction that I want it to take.
I suppose I can update my progress and if I am losing weight/working out and all of that. Like I was saying in my other post, it would be a decent motivator for me I think to be updating in the winter months.

So..... onto my fitness stuff...

I have restarted my "Couch to 5k" program again. But instead of printing it out on paper - A co worker of mine told me about an I Touch application that I can get and that keeps track for me.
It was only .99 cents so I downloaded it and have used it twice so far. I am short - just 5 feet (and that is rounding up!) so I don't got a big stride. So while the walking/running combo is just a half hour, I only cover 2 miles when I use the program.

I love to run. Even though I suck terribly at it and I gotta take my Albuterol inhaler before I run, I still love it. There is just something really nice about running and cranking the music on my I Touch. It puts me in such a good place. I can think about life, work, magick, and also work a bunch of stuff out in my head.

I am still at 129 lbs and holding. This is a good thing. I really want to continue to lose and strength train again as well. I have been slacking - AGAIN with my weights. That ticks me off because I love doing my strength training.

As it stands now - running will be on Friday, Sunday and Wednesdays. Those are also the days I will be doing my abs workout as well. I got a great abs workout video that really gives me a decent workout without hurting my back. To anyone that might be interested in it - it's called "The Firm - Body Sculpting Workout." It cost me about $30 bucks for the complete kit at Drugstore.com last year - but you CAN still order it from "Firmdirect.com" I believe. The kit includes the "Fanny Lifter" (think of a stepper) and includes 3 videos in 1. They are all really good workouts and helped me to push past my plateau. I like all 3. The Cardio sculpt the Body Sculpt and the Abs sculpt.
I mainly use the "Ab Sculpt" video with instructor Lisa Kay. She is good with reminders and all that. And she works your abs and core - in 25 minutes. Well worth the money that I spent. I do use the other videos as well, and boy do they make my legs scream! It's good though because I got decent legs from using it.

I have not worked out what my workout schedule will be yet. I will probably work arms on Mondays and then legs on Tuesdays or something. Not sure yet. Will figure it all out though.

Got my new exercise bike today! So now... I gotta go build it. If it's *anything* like the corner desk I bought here and built... It's gonna take a while. lol.



As you may well know - today is 9/11. I hope everyone was able to at least have a brief moment of silence today in quiet reflection of that tragic day in history.
For all the people that lost a loved on on that day, or knew someone who did... I am so very sorry for your loss and the pain that you have had to endure from that day forward.
I have experienced *sudden death* of a loved one and I know how incredibly painful and gut wrenching it can be..

I was home, watching "Good Morning America" on that day. I was horrified and I cried my eyes out. Seeing that truly changed my life in so many ways. It also opened my eyes to the world around me and made me realize that life can indeed end in the blink of an eye.

To this day - when I watch any video of it on tv I cry because it brings back the same gut wrenching pain I felt when I saw it for the first time. It's something I will never - ever forget.

I'd also like to say thank you to all the men and women that work endlessly to keep every single one of us safe from harm. From the Navy to the Marines, you all are so very important to the security of this Country. You all are a Hero in my eyes. Thank you, you are very much appreciated and you deserve to be told that - every single day.

I've just gotten back into the gym- I lifted 4 times this week.

And as one of those men, there is no need to thank me, I volunteered for this job. But thank you anyway!

I always stop doin it though..I would prob have an awesome body If
I kept up with it!

I have a few "fitness friday" posts myself. I think its a great idea that I hope would catch on with other people. Maybe if more people thought about it before the weekend, they would find some time Saturday morning to get out and do something special. I love the Firm. I did that a long time ago and still integrate some of the exercises in my workouts.

KItten- I hear ya. I love working out and all that
but for some reason it's really hard for me to make
the transition sometimes..
